Georgia rental assistance – Georgia rental assistance program | Rental assistance

The State of Georgia got $989 million from the United States Treasury’s Federal Emergency Rental Assistance Program to help individuals, families, and landlords whose finances have been harmed since the COVID-19 epidemic began on March 13, 2020. The cash will be used to pay for rent and utilities, as well as other associated costs.

This initiative, which began in March 2021, is administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA). Where applicable, the funds are delivered directly to landlords and service providers, and eligible applicants will be granted up to 18 months of payment relief. Individuals must be unemployed or have faced financial hardship after March 13, 2020; show a risk of homelessness or housing instability, and have a household income of less than 80% of median income.

You may be eligible for assistance if you are a Georgia renter who has fallen behind on rent payments as of March 13, 2020. The Georgia Rental Assistance Program can give up to 18 months of rental and utility assistance to tenants through payments made directly to eligible landlords and service providers. Check to see whether you’re eligible.
